Oh my Gosh! I've just been doing silly posts this week and HAPPENED to check my post counter and realized I had almost MISSED my 100th POST!!! That would have been horrible! Ok, probably only horrible to me, I'm sure no one else would have noticed...or cared.
Except that I am also doing my very first GIVEAWAY! TIMES 2! Woot Woot!
I was the lucky recipient of the Pay it Forward prize from the lovely Theresa at Too Many Heartbeats. She sent me a great package with yummy smelling candles, a cute mug, a starbucks gift card (which I gifted to my friend Cat) and a great book on 30 days of worship.
Now it's my turn to Pay it Forward to Two of my lovely readers. TWO (2) winners will be chosen randomly by a very clever random chooser thing-a-ma-jiggy that has yet to be discovered. These lucky ducks will receive a fancy package with a few of my favorite things! (I promise it will not include girls in white dresses OR schnitzel with noodles...I'm pretty sure that would NOT package well). Hint: I love cookies, chocolate, flowers and gardening, and ummmm.....well to be honest I haven't put that much thought in to it yet.
I don't like to beg people to follow my blog (but I won't turn ya away if ya wanna!), and I certainly don't know how to Tweet. So how can you enter to win my fabulous prize of a few of my favorite things?
Let me start off by saying that this year in Primary we have asked the children to participate in Random Acts of Kindness. To step outside themselves and serve someone unselfishly. Since this is something that helps the world go round, I say why the heck not! So the way to enter is simple: Participate in a Random Act of Kindness and leave me a comment on this post about it. You can either do the act yourself, oversee the act (if your child wants to participate), or be the recipient of an act of kindness. You may enter up to five times. (not that I'm trying to limit your kindness...feel free to do more on your own!)
Contest ends at 11:59 MST on Friday, February 26th. I will draw TWO (2) winners at random and announce them on Saturday, February 27. PLEASE be sure to leave your email address if it is not visible on your profile. I will notify both winners via email and they will have 48 hours to respond.
So have a happy day and let's get out there and be kind!

Aww, that's an awesome way to pay it forward. I like the way you think woman! I don't have a blog here, but I'm such a sucker for layouts and your's is def a 10 on the cute factor scale, I'm very tempted to start one! By the way, this is Tracy from LP and Facebook!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great contest! Lemme see what I can come up with...
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on your 100th post. Feels good, huh?
I going to do an act of kindness by entering. :) Why is that an act of kindness? Because if I win I will save you the shipping charges - you can just walk the prize over to my house.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding! I did have an act of kindness done to me this month. My parents invited my family to join them on their trip to Cali this month and stay in their condo with them (for free). THEN they gave us the money to buy our Disneyland tickets. THEN they made us breakfast every day and also treated us to a really nice (although overpriced) dinner in Disneyland. Their random act of kindess to us made our year!
Congrats on your 100th Blog! That is amazing. I hope to make it there someday soon. I like the pay it forward idea. Occasionally when I am in the drive through line I will look in my rearview mirror and see a person and decide to go ahead and pay for their order too. I enjoy it so much.
ReplyDeleteYour gift idea is a great one too, so I would love to enter. If I am chosen, I will get to do another type of pay it forward.
Congrats on 100 posts! Im almost there too. I am a follower, and funny you did this post, I JUST had a random act of kindness. Someone bought my coffee for me at Starbucks! And it was a kind older lady, not some man trying to hit on me :)
ReplyDeleteAlso check out random.org to help pick your winner
Thanks Laurnie...I def will check it out! And I follow you too! :)
ReplyDeleteJust started following your blog. You crack me up. I have recently been the recipient of an act of kindness. When my husband and I were out of town a few weeks ago, my sister very gratefully kept our 2 year old little boy so we could have a much needed date. We do not have any family where we live so it was nice of her to do that.
ReplyDeleteYay for 100 posts! We have similar favorite things si I'm excited about this! Let's see...I almost always let people go ahead of me at the grocery store if they have less things than me - or if they seem to be in a rush. Does that count?
ReplyDeleteI am a follower!! :)
Yay for the 100th post! I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI called my dad today because of this post and it turned out to be a great conversation.
Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest
ReplyDeleteYour dogs are precious! Congrats on your 100th post. Keep blogging!
The Park Wife
congrats on your 100th post!! What a great idea for contest entries! hmmm... well, I bought a great Valentine's cup for the girls that I am discipling and now we have matching ones so she can be reminded that someone loves her!
ReplyDeleteGreat contest. I'll see what I can come up with. I mean, I'm snarky, but I can be kind too. Tee Hee.
ReplyDeleteOh, and to answer your question on my blog: No. Boobs aren't necessary. Not until later at night when the beads are scarce and everyone's wasted. During the parades and during the day it's all in fun. Also, it was cold this year, so in order to get someone topless would require removing three layers of clothing. Too much work for plastic beads if you ask me.
Stopping by from SITS - congrats on your hundredth post!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 100th post!!! I'm stopping by from SITS and thought that your pay forward idea is awesome! Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS. Congrats on your 100th post, your blog layout is adorable! New follower can not wait to read more :)
ReplyDeleteok so I am not the random of kindness acts kind of person so I will just have you know there is a lady at work who always has treats at her desk and one week she was running low on cash and everyone was bugging her about treats so I picked up a few bags of treats for her! ahahaha so I am a tad kind =D ANYWAY I want in! and I will follow too ;)

Here from SITS! Random act of kindness for the day is that I spent an extra 30 minutes today teaching students after class how to do different moves from class, even though I wanted to get home to be with my DH!

ReplyDeleteThis weekend I helped my kids make Valentines cookies (I know I'm a week late, but we were out of town on the actual valentines) and then we went and delivered cookies to all of the kids grandparents.
ReplyDeleteWhile we were visiting with Josh's sweet step-grandma, I started talking to her about books (we both love to read). Then she got up and went and grabbed a stack of books from her closet and GAVE them to me. So while we were doing our little act of kindness, I had another random act of kindness done for me.
I have to think about my random act of kindness, so I'll get back to you on that (what a great way to have people enter, by the way - definitely more meaningful than the usual "Follow Me on Twitter" - although I'm certainly not above that!)... ANYwho, I really like your blog layout - especially the pretty scalloped edge of this middle section - it reminds me of a cloud!
ReplyDeleteHey lady... I dont even remember how I did it... I googled something like "3 column Blogger" & found directions on how to change the code into a 3 column layout... It was kinda tricky because you have to go in & change the HTML codes - which freak me out... some people understand that stuff... not me... just keep looking for a page that explains it pretty simply. If I can find where I originally got my info, I'll pass it on...
ReplyDeleteAnother random act of kindness happened to my hubby and I this weekend. We were cleaning our garage a much needed task and our neighbor and his girlfriend came down and helped out making the job go lots quicker. In turn I fixed them dinner.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 100th post! And what a cool giveaway - I love the idea of a Random Act of Kindness. :) I'll have to see what I can come up with before the 26th! ;)
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I saw a comment you left on another blog and noticed that your name is Stacy, too - and you spell it right! So I had to come over and say "Hi" to my namesake! ;)
Ooo, I love a good giveaway..and anything you love is bound to be good ;)
ReplyDeleteEvery year for Easter me and hubs pick a couple random families, pack up Easter baskets with goodies and toys, and then doorbell ditch them. We haven't done it yet this year, but I'm already buying candy for it! ;)
I came into work today to find that my cute coworker crocheted a little monster for me. It's adorable and has completely made my week! :D
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I'm SO glad you won my give-away because I think yours is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by and check it out and I am incredibly thrilled!
Have a blessed day!
Teresa <><
What a great person you are :) Love people like you. I'm a follower even though you didn't beg me to be :)
ReplyDeleteI just won my first giveaway last week, and I was so excited to receive my package in the mail today.
Tomorrow I'm featuring a gal who has MS and is in charge of a group trying to raise money for national MS society for research. So, I guess I can consider this a RAOK. I'm also going to donate 25 cents for every comment on that post (up to $100). So, drop by tomorrow and leave a few comments to help her spread the word and support her cause.
How did I miss this?! I'm like the blog giveaway entering queen, but gosh darnit, my blog reader must have swallowed you whole. ;) Let's see, random acts of kindness - ahh, I know...elderly people ALWAYS mistake me for wal-mart help when I shop there. I have NO idea why, but it is inevitable that some little old lady or man will stop and ask me "Do you work here?" and I always tell them "No, but do you think I can help you find something?" and it never fails, they just need hairspray or lotion or something, and I usually go help them hunt it down. The older folks are always so overlooked, so I try to make sure they get what they need. One day I'll be in their shoes!
ReplyDeleteToday I did the grocery shopping - which I HATE doing, especially with the young kids in tow. Since I have had the new baby Josh has usually been the one to do the grocery shopping (which is always an act of kindnes to me btw because he hates it too). Today I thought, "I'll give Josh a break and surprise him by doing the shopping early." So that is my random act of kindess for the day - even though I spent way too much, so maybe Josh won't actually see it as an act of kindness :)
ReplyDeleteI have one more (I'm not trying to win this or anything :) ). The kids and I bought flowers for my mom today, who just got home from the hospital after major surgery, and the kids are making her cards. We are going to deliver them to her this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI totally thought I had already entered but I don't see my comment above! My co-worker had to stay late to do some work last night and I helped her out so she could get home at a decent hour. I'm so glad you like the bracelets!
ReplyDeleteOk I have let my 2 year old make his own pizza 2 nights this week. Good huh? I really want to win
ReplyDeleteI took a sister in my ward to the hospital. In fact, I've made 4 trips with her.... can that count as 4 posts?
